i really loved this overall but this last arc feels pretty rushed, goldenhoard was not built up well as the final boss of this campaign at all even if the actual fight is amazing.

I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with min-maxers, but it can potentially be a problem if the DM and the table at large aren't very good at making sure everybody is given space to shine. Yes, there might be optimized builds and strategies, but some players may want to try out other sorts of builds (perhaps for roleplaying reasons or perhaps because they simply want to try out new strategies to see what they feel like). And if the only response to combat encounters being lopsided in favor of min-maxed characters is for everyone else to "get good," then you are essentially saying "give up on playing any non-optimized builds." Sometimes people just want to experiment or have a quirky build, but they still want to be able to participate and even to shine. D&D is a social game where we are cooperatively making a story together. At the end of the day, it's about having fun. Min-maxing can be fun. But being quirky can also be fun. Unfortunately, tension can come up between those two groups (in the sense that if a DM leans too far into helping maintain the fun for either side, then the other side might feel cheated of their own fun). But if everyone at the table is respectful of each other and has the mindset of trying to be inclusive of everyone, then I think the tension can be overcome. Session zero is very important for this very reason--to make sure that people are on the same page in regards to what sort of story they want to tell together, how everyone wants to play, and what sorts of things everyone finds fun and/or unfun.
